Alan Ayo (3p-8p Eastern)
I love rock and roll radio. I used to listen to it when I was a kid, while sitting on the floor building huge Rebel Bases with Legos and Star Wars figures. I stumbled into it in college, thinking I'd never be more than a behind-the-scenes guy taking care of the music library. That's when I was 18. I'm still trying to figure out how in the world I got here, but what a ride I've had so far. My misadventures in radio have had me broadcasting from Georgia, Texas, California and special one-off occasions from The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I'm just a guy. I love collecting and playing rock music. I'm obsessed with the story of Bonnie and Clyde, and will talk your ear off about it. I love animals, and working with rescues. I love being underwater in the ocean. I love cooking. I love being a Dad. I love sleep! Mostly, I love sleep.
Chris Hatton (1a-6a ET)
Chris grew up outside of Pittsburgh and fell into radio at WDVE and WXDX. After moving west, he went to work for a nationally syndicated Modern Rock format. Since then, he has made stops in Omaha and Denver. An avid sports fan, Chris bleeds ‘black ‘n gold’ and when not “working” stays highly active with a number of sports.
First of all, yes. Darby IS my real name.
I’ve been on the radio since the 1930’s and will/am STILL be on the radio well into the 3000’s made possible by a time machine I created (or WILL create depending on when you’re reading this) utilizing various wormholes and cracks in the time space continuum. I also use the time machine for sports betting/lottery ticket purchasing.
That may not be true.
I’m a big proponent of bicycling whenever possible based mainly on the super cool helmets and skin tight (sometimes sequined) aqua unitards I get to wear when pedaling. I also have a bell.
I dig all types of music and have a soft spot in my heart for The Black Crowes, virtually anything Mike Patton does, The Rolling Stones, Nine Inch Nails, folky music recorded in Wisconsin cabins and Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal.
I may have also embedded the secret entrance to my time machine somewhere in this bio. I can’t believe you can’t see it!
Eddie Barella (10a-3p Eastern)
Eddie loves all that is radio, especially the part where he gets to "borrow" free stuff out of the prize closet. He got his start in radio at the age of 15-years-old--that's when he gave up on becoming a doctor, and having a respectable career. But, he couldn't be happier offering his commentary on the crazy world we live in, while playing his favorite music. Eddie is a huge music fan, with an eclectic taste for everything that is rock; from metal to classic rock, to indie hipster rock and alternative.
Josh (10a-3p, Saturday/Sunday)
When not at the radio station, I collect records (about 15,000 now) and watch old TV shows like Magnum PI and Twin Peaks. I am also a big Star Wars fan. My Star Wars room look like a serial killer's house my wife says. Are there tons of action figures still in the packages? Yes. Yes there are. You heard that right. I'm a Star Wars geek BUT I have known the touch of a woman. I now play in a Smiths tribute band called Panic. I needed a new one after the legendary Nightmare On E Street split up (my old Springsteen cover band). If you read these last few sentences and thought "He must have some musical talent", you'd be wrong. I just find people better than me to be in my bands.
Marconi (8p-1a Eastern)
He died doing what he loved. Eating pancakes... I'd probably leave the house more often if I could shoot fireballs at everybody and collect a bunch of coins... Every time my phone dies, I die a little inside… If only I could make a career out of sweaty feet… Somewhere, somebody just discovered there isn't room to stick any more needles into their voodoo doll of me… Life is a drinking game and I'm kickin' some serious ass… I never got any gold stars as a kid. That's why I'm here…Prove to me that the ocean isn't made of fish tears. You can't… I take the extra out of extraordinary… Too bored to stay home, too lazy to go out… Just discovered this old timey internet called a "library"… My only goal in life is to die at some point… Take my advice, don't take my advice… Why are you reading my bio? I mean this is the second time today! It still says the same thing it did when you first read it!
Robbie Knight (6a-10a Eastern)
I'm a lifetime NRA member and I donate to Greenpeace. The way I grew up, that's not contradictory. Dad was a game warden. I was an avid backpacker and mountain biker for years, but I'm a SPAZ and I've got lots of injuries so now I car camp. I take care of myself and I enjoy Chinese exercises like Qigong (Taekwondo got me hurt, Ju Jitzu hurt even more). I hate jam bands (except for the old school ones). Allman Brothers, “yes”, String Cheese, “no”. My Mom raised me on classical music (mostly the Germans) and she knew everything about the great composers, so I got hooked on reading rock trivia. Rock and roll saves teen lives, it sure did that for me.
I started to like radio when I was 9 years old and would call the station and win sports trivia contests, and subsequently, prizes. The DJ’s hated me. I truly think I was the reason radio stations instituted a “must be 12 years old to win” contest rule. Later, I found out that DJ's only worked 4 hours a day. That tied in perfectly with my (non) work ethic and it's been a delicious ride ever since.
I play in a punk rock band who can only be named as “GPR” because this is a family friendly bio. Get in touch with me of you ever want to see pics of my face after an angry punk rock woman kicked me in the face several times at a show.
